Route

There are several walks that can be undertaken including over the water provided one has sufficient conviction!


3.5 Km Family Fun Walk
Where: To the magnificent Kinsol Trestle on the Trans Canada Trail. Walkers will be directed down to the buses for the ride to the start line of the walk on the trail head at Renfrew Road.
When: Start at 8:30am
Description: The tightly packed gravel trail slopes gently down to the trestle and the area along the trail is nicely forested. The trestle is a marvel to behold, so you will want to bring your camera!

10Km Walk
Where: Walk to McGee Creek on the Trans Canada Trail. Walkers will be directed down to the buses for the ride to the start line of the walk on the trail head at Renfrew Road.
When: Start at 8:30am
Description: The trail is hard packed gravel, and is wide and open with some interesting scenery including several well landscaped properties along the way. When you reach the rest stop at the end of your walk, you may want to travel another 50 metres down the trail and walk across the wood bridge spanning McGee Creek.

13.5 Km Walk
Where: Walk the magnificent Kinsol Trestle and McGee Creek via the Trans Canada Trail. Walkers will be directed down to the buses for the ride to the start line of the walk on the trail head at Renfrew Road.
When: Start at 8:30am

22Km Shawnigan Lake Walk
Where: Start line is at the Community Center
When: 8:30am Start
Description: An exciting lengthy route circling Shawnigan Lake. The route is complete with paved roads, trails, hills and more. It will be marked and easy to navigate, please check out the map for this route!

27Km Shawnigan Lake Walk
Where: Start line is at the Community Center
When: 8:30am Start

KAYAK


10Km and 15Km Kayak Routes (NEW!)
Where: Kayakers start at the Government Wharf boat dock
When: 8:30am start time
Description: Both the 10 and 15 km routes are sponsored by Cowichan Bay Kayaking this year, and will be clearly marked for participants.
